Kim & Mariani Broemer's Three Simple Lessons for Success with any Goal

But Especially for Success in Financial Freedom!

Do you know how to reach your goals? What characteristics do you need? Determination, tenacity, grit?

Or maybe kindness, compassion or calm? Should you be aggressive or patient?

The truth is, there isn’t a single magical characteristic that guarantees success—for you or for anyone else. And there isn’t one specific combination of skills you need to reach your goals.

But there IS a secret to success.

We've discovered that the real secret to success (and financial freedom!) is focusing on your own personal development. And we want to help you learn how we became financially independent.
Focusing On Your Personal Development
When you’re focused on personal development, overcoming the roadblocks to financial freedom becomes much easier. The greater your ability to navigate obstacles, the more likely you’ll reach your destination and achieve your goals.

Granted, this is all easier said than done. In fact, personal development is something of a business buzzword when you hear it with no explanation.

But trust us, personal development is much, much more powerful than jargon.

These are the three lessons we’ve learned on our journey of personal development that ended with our financial independence, lessons we believe will help you reach the success you desire.
Lesson #1: Be Your Best Self
There’s an old story about a Persian prince who had a horrible hunchback. He felt shame and embarrassment because of the way he looked.

When he became king, he commissioned a beautiful sculpture of himself. Not as he actually looked, but of him standing in a perfect, upright position. When the statue was finished, he walked by it every day, leaned his back against the cool marble and stood up as straight as he could.

Even though it was painful, he kept going.

And as time went by, he stood taller and taller against the statue. Then one day, he stood perfectly straight, mirroring the figure before him. He had finally reached his goal.

The sculpture was not as he was but as what he wanted to be. And he had worked toward his goal until his vision became reality.

You can do the same thing.

Picture not who you are but who you want to be. Memorize this person. Understand what they do and why. During your personal development journey, lean up against this person every day.

They’ll help guide you to your best self.
Lesson #2: Work Above Your Pay Grade
Your work ethic will be one of the deciding factors to whether you reach financial freedom or not. So whether you work for yourself or someone else, are you the person who goes above and beyond, or do you just do the bare minimum?

But we're talking about working with purpose and intention.

Not just work for the sake of work. The winner of the recent Melbourne Cup won the race by a nose. He was awarded 8 million dollars while the horse that came second received just 1 million dollars.

So did the winner who won 8 times more money run 8 times faster? No! He won by just a slight edge—a nose. Success doesn't automatically mean doing 8 times more work. Succeeding can be a small action that makes a huge difference.
Lesson #3: Stay Close (but not too close)
To The Grindstone
Ever hear the phrase, “keep your nose to the grindstone?”

This means keeping your head down, blinders on and efficiently perform your task without comment or complaint.

Doesn't sound great, does it?

If you’re working above your pay grade, falling into a “head down, blinders on” trap is easy. Because you so badly want to stand out, you work longer, harder and faster. You put your nose to the grindstone. But watch out!

Get too close for too long, and you’ll suddenly find you have no nose.

When you keep your head down and work, work, work you miss out on important opportunities. The most successful people have one ear on their work and the other in the sky, open to hearing about the next big thing or new opportunity.

Jim Rohn said, “Your personal philosophy is your greatest determining factor in how your life will work out.”

We couldn’t agree more.

We're Kim and Mariani Broemer, and we're looking for a handful of people to mentor on how to become Financially Independent and how to become a better version of themselves. Is that you?
